The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. The other sacraments, and other ministries and works of Catholic people, are bound together and oriented toward the Holy Eucharist.
At Mass, the bread and wine is changed into the total Jesus Christ, body and blood, soul and divinity. Holy Communion unites us intimately with Jesus Christ, separates us from sin, and unites with other members of the Catholic Church. Catholics normally receive the Holy Eucharist at Mass unless they need to go to Reconciliation to seek forgiveness of their serious sins. For children who do NOT attend a Catholic School and would like to receive the Sacrament of First Communion, Religious Education Classes are required. JAM (Jesus And Me) classes begin every September and run until Spring.
The “Finding God” Catholic curriculum is used for all grades except 2nd Grade, which follows the same “Word of Life” curriculum for sacramental preparation used in the school. Kids will learn about how God made them, how He made the world, what we believe, the ten commandments, the structure of the liturgy of the Mass, and more!
