St. Roch Catholic School opened its doors in September of 1924 after the Catholic population in the area began to grow significantly. They welcomed 46 boys and girls from the surrounding community. Two Sisters of St. Joseph came to run the school which consisted of two classrooms. 100 years later, St. Roch has 275 students with a faculty and staff of almost 50!

There is a rich history here of providing quality Catholic education to our students. Over the years, St. Roch Catholic School has become an integral part of the local community, fostering academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community service.

The school was named after Saint Rocco (Roch), a 14th century French saint known for his dedication to caring for the sick and his unwavering faith. This choice of patronage reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing students’ spiritual development alongside their academic pursuits.

Throughout its history, St. Roch Catholic School has maintained strong ties with the local community. The school actively encourages parents and community members to be involved in the parish life, service, and outreach. Throughout the year, students participate in numerous service projects and outreach programs for the poor in our city. The school provides a faith-filled environment where students are encouraged to explore their potential, develop their gifts and talents, and become responsible members of society.

Today, St. Roch stands as a symbol of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community service. Our students are proud to be Rockets, and they leave St. Roch with the tools necessary for High School and beyond. As we look to the future, St. Roch will remain dedicated to providing high-quality Catholic education that prepares students to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world while remaining rooted in their faith.
